Let’s Talk About It…

by Kaitlyn Gawrylewski

Let’s face it…it can be daunting to bring up the subject with our kids. You know what I’m talking about…sex! But, the truth is, the more open we are in exploring the subject and all its facets, the less likely our kids will go looking for the information from other “unreliable” sources (insert friends, the internet, etc. here).

Which is why I was so excited to stumble upon the book Let’s Talk About it: The Teen’s Guide To Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human. The authors, two artists who happen to be married, utilize the fun and less intimidating comic book style to explore topics including sex education, sexting, gender identity and sexuality, how to start a relationship, body image, and more. So whether you’re a parent looking for a fun resource to offer to your kiddo, or have a teen who is starting to ask some questions that you feel uncomfortable talking about, this book can offer a fun and approachable way to learn some facts, and get the ball rolling on these important yet sometimes uncomfy topics.
